ABOUT: The Camelot Collection was an original bespoke design for couple Sarah & JB, but has proved so popular with both guests and the media, that we decided to make it part of the House Collections.
From the moment the brief arrived with the words ‘FUN FUN FUN’ in the opening sentence I knew this was going to be one exciting project. The couple wanted anything but traditional wedding invitations and asked Paperknots to create something completely unique to really get their guests talking about their funfair style wedding.
The first ‘tease’ is the quirky ‘Loveometer’ Save the Date. Guests pull the plunger up the loveometer, slowly revealing the wedding date, after passing each of the key dates since the couple first met. You can almost hear it ‘dinging’, right?!
The wedding invitation itself follows the funfair theme with its bright colour palette, carnival typography and ‘admission tags’ that come bound with red and white twine. The RSVP is part of the pocketfold invite which guests tear off along the perforated line as if it were another ticket. The pocket contains all the wedding details, from a bespoke drawn wedding map to details of the accommodation and weekend activities.
Sarah and JB decided they didn’t want the fun to stop there and so also had a very unique table plan – a 7ft tall trellis draped with brightly coloured ribbons, fairy lights and, most importantly, personalised escort cards for each guest to take. The escort cards reveal the guest’s table name and can then be worn as a festival style lanyard around the neck. Also designed for on-the-day was a poster/newspaper style order of service, table names, place names, ‘I spy’ cards and wedding signs for around the venue.
